Trail to imperfection

Don't try to be perfect.

Once I were running orienteering, and orienteering only. The sport where you navigate the wilderness with map and compass. It was a joy. Nowadays I don't only do that, even if that still is a big part of my running.

In running, as in life in general, it's easy to try to become a better version of you. Social media says that it's important. But it will not only most likely stop many of us to improve, but also stop us from trying at all as soon as we hit the first problematic wall. That's why it is important to realize that you don't have to be the best. It makes running more fun and doable, as well at it makes life more liveable.

When going out for a run, it might be good to have a plan. But also good to have a realistic plan that have wide margins so that it includes mistakes, accidents and things that is impossible to take in count in beforehand. When realizing this, running became much more fun and liberating for me than it was before. One of many positive results of this was that I stopped having muscle problems, but I still evolved as a runner, in a more durable way.

I will probably continue to talk over and over about this strive for imperfection, because this is a way that works for me to lift of the heavy burden of trying too hard all the time.
